SCHOOL TERMS & VACATION

 

Examination Schedule (Approximate) for the session 2013 – 14:

 

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT 1 (FA1)  May’ 13 2nd week

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT 2 (FA2)  July’ 13 3rd week

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT 1 (SA1)  September’ 13 2nd week

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT 3 (FA3)  November’ 13 3nd week

FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT 4 (FA4)  January’ 14 2nd week

SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT 2 (SA2)  March’ 14 1st week

 

 

Rules and Regulations of the above examinations:

1. The pision of numbers for each subject will be as follows:

a) FA1 (20 marks) + FA2 (20 marks) + SA1 (80 marks which will be converted to 60 marks) = 100 marks.

b) FA3 (20 marks) + FA4 (20 marks) + SA2 (80 marks which will be converted to 60 marks) = 100 Marks.

2. Project Work:

From Class I to V project work of 10 marks for SCIENCE, SST and COMPUTER will be added with SA1 and SA2 only.

From Class VI to VIII project work of 10 marks for SCIENCE, SST, MATHEMATICS and COMPUTER will also be added with SA1 and SA2 only.

3. Computer Practical:

From Class I to VIII computer practical of 10 marks will be added with SA1 and SA2 only.

4. Science Practical:

From Class VI to VIII practical examination of 10 marks will be held before SA1 and SA2 and will be added with these two exams.

5. Drawing & Craft:

From Class I to V both drawing and craft examination will be held for SA1 and SA2.

From Class VI to VIII only drawing examination will be held for SA1 and SA2.

6. Spelling, Dictation and Reading Examination (For Class I to V):

a) For FA1, FA2, FA3 & FA4 20 marks English (10 spelling + 5 dictation + 5 reading) &  20 marks 2nd language (10 spelling + 5 dictation + 5 reading)

    Exam will be held.

    Total 20 + 20 = 40 marks of English and 2nd language spelling, dictation & reading 

     Exam will be converted to 20 marks.

b) For SA1 and SA2 30 marks English (15 spelling + 10 dictation + 5 reading)  & 30 marks 2nd language (15 spelling + 10 dictation + 5 reading)

    Exam will be held.

    Total 30 + 30 = 60 marks will be directly added to SA1 & SA2.

 

NOTE: No oral examinations will be held for any class. Grades will be provided along with numbers procured by a student.

 

Examination Schedule and Rules & Regulations of examination are subject to change as per discretion of school committee.

 

 

B) Vacation

Summer Vacation    May/June.

Autumn Vacation    October (depending on festival)

Winter Vacation    December/January

These Vacation shall be indicated in the calendar which will not be extended under any circumstances. Besides these vacation, the school will remain closed on any certain National and Festival Holidays which will be notified through the calendar.
